Keywords: Task-Based Learning, Improving English Ability This research is conducted focused on implementation and students‟ perceptions towards Task-Based Learning at MA Unggulan KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang. The significance of this study is as follows; 1) to know the implementation of task-based learning at MA Unggulan KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang, 2) to know students‟ perceptions towards the implementation of task-based learning at MA Unggulan KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang. The researcher used case study qualitative research. The data sources in this study are; 1) students‟ advisor of paper, 2) English teacher, 3) students, 4) complement, such as paper guidebook and photos. The result of this study shows task-based learning that was implemented at MA Unggulan KH. Abdul Wahab Hasbulloh Tambakberas Jombang is in the form of paper. There are 3 steps, they are; 1) Pre-Task which consists of a seminar of paper preparation, giving the students a guidebook of paper, the students are looking for previous studies related to their paper, making a proposal of paper, proposal of paper examination, and revision of proposal paper. 2) task-cycle, which consists of writing and finishing paper and 3) post-task which consists of paper examination and the revision. According to students‟ perception towards the implementation of Task-Based Learning at MA Unggulan KH Abdul Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang, they said that it gave them benefits. The benefits are in the form of improvement of 4 basic skills of English.
