Language style is a different way of communicating with others. It is a way for people to convey their ideas, information or messages by using different styles under different conditions seen from the use of words and intonation. Therefore, the language used in formal and informal situations is very different. People often communicate informally with those closest to them. Because of this, intimate language style is often used in everyday conversations because it is used to communicate with the closest people such as family. There have been many studies that examine language style, but there are still few who conduct research on one style of language, namely intimate language style which is often used in everyday life. In this study, the researcher analyzed the intimate language styles used by the characters in Encanto movie. The statements of research problem are 1) What are the characteristics of intimate language styles used by the characters in Encanto movie? 2) What are the factors that influence the characters to use intimate language styles? 3) What are the meaning and messages of the intimate language styles used by the characters in Encanto movie. The objective of the research to find out 1) The characteristics of intimate language styles used by the characters of Encanto movie 2) The factors that influence the characters to use intimate language styles 3) The meaning and messages of the intimate language styles used by the characters of Encanto movie. This research used qualitative approach by using library research as the research method, the data for the research is the utterances among the characters in the movie through the movie and movie scripts which are related to the intimate language style based on Martin Joos theory (1976) and social factors that influence of using intimate style based on Holmes theory (1992). The steps in analyzing data are watching the movie, read the script of the movie, choose and marks the sentence and dialogues related to the research question, identifies and draws conclusion from the data that has been collected. The finding of this research reveal that the researcher found five characteristics of intimate language style in Encanto movie. There are 28 characteristics of intimate language style, there are 6 addresse characteristics, 5 extraction characteristics, 6 jargon characteristics, 1 close friend characteristic, and 10 family relationship characteristics. The researcher also found four of social factors that influence the use of intimate style there are participant, setting, topic, and function. The participant being communicate in this movie is family member and closest friend. Topic being conveyed in this movie is a private topic, secret and x love for family. Setting in this movie is informal setting such as home, bedroom, dining room, and family room. The function of language style in this movie is to showing love and shows the closest relationship among the characters in this movie. The meaning and message has two data from the dialog of intimate language style analysis related to the social factor that influence. The first one is the meaning and the message has the same information and the same purposed being conveyed. The second one is the meaning and the message has the different information and different purposes used by the character in this movie related to the social factors and the intimate language style itself.
