Keywords : Short Story,Vcabulary Mastery,Youtube Application Vocabulary is an important foundation in starting English language skills matery of covering writing, reading, listening, and speaking. Limited vocabulary is one of the triggers factors causing difficulties in English learning. One of technique reading short stories, because in a short story there are a lot of new vocabularies. Short story can be found in YouTube application non printed. Short stories videos using Youtube application provide a large numbers in vocabularies of language inputs. The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of short story videos using YouTube application in improving the vocabulary mastery of eighth graders at Mts Sultan Agung Jabalsari. To achieve this goal, in this study a problem was formulated, namely "is there any significant difference scores in vocabulary mastery before and after being taught short story videos using YouTube application for eighth grade students at Mts Sultan Agung Jabalsari?". This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre�experimental design. The data werecollected from the students population of Mts,. The sample consisted of 20 students who underwent treatment. The data was in the form of numbers obtained and they were analyzed using paired sample t-test with SPSS to calculate the data.By administering pre�test and post-test. The results showed that short story videos through the YouTube application were effectively used for developing vocabulary mastery of eighth graders at Mts Sultan Agung Jabalsari. The statistical competetaion revealed that the sign value was 0.000 and it was indicated is ≤ 0.05.it means that there was significant difference score of the students before and after being taught by using short story videos through YouTube application.
