English Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic University (UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Hj. Ida Isnawati, M.Pd. Keywords: Parents’ Support, Students’ English Learning Students in Indonesia have more difficulties in learning English than other students in different countries. It is caused by many factors influencing them in learning English. Since English is a compulsory subject and a part of the school curriculum, students have to study it. Many experts of education try to reveal the problem of English learning. The curriculum, approach, method of English teaching is always revised and improved in order to achieve the goal of teaching learning process. Therefore, students are able to learn English easily. Parents become one factor that influences the teaching learning process. Parents' support becomes the most important place in students’ English learning achievement. It is because parents have the biggest role in a child's environment as a student. This environment is the first and main place for children where they begin to interact with surroundings and establish the experiences that helped them to interact with the physical and social environment. Therefore, parents have big responsibilities in learning English to their children so they will improvetheir English better. The formulation of the research question were: 1) What types of support given by parents for students in learning English? 2) What reasons behind parents’ support in students’ English learning? This study used a descriptive qualitative research method. Subjects of the study were from five parents of students at eighth grade of MTs Darussalam Kademangan Blitar and five students or children themselves who had high achievement in learning English. The techniques of collecting data used were interviews and documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher used data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. To know the credibility of the findings, the researcher used triangulation, that were data triangulation and methodological triangulation. The result showed that: 1) Parents support their child by using many aspects of parents’ support, including parenting, communicating, and learning at home. All of these aspects show that mostly parents support their child in the house and in the school. Parents fulfill their children’s needs in any form of needs, such as health, school supplies, space and time for schoolwork at home, positive home
