The Correlation Between Students’ Frequency of Listening to English Song Lyrics and Their Listening Skill at The Twelve Grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojoagung Jombang. Sarjana Thesis. Keywords : Frequency Listening, Listening Skill Learning English for some students is difficult and unpleasant. Listening is the first aspect that is needed in understanding a language, especially English. One of the four skills in English, listening is the first that students need to understand because by listening students can develop speaking, reading and writing skills. In education, students need to have listening skill before students can speak, read, and write. So the aim of this research is to make the prediction on the existence of the correlation between students’ frequency og listening to English song lyrics and their listening Skill at the tenth grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojoagung Jombang. This research is used a quantitative design. The method that is used in this research is a correlational study. There two variables in this research. The Frequency of Students’ Listening English Song Lyrics as predictor variable (variable X) and Students’ Listening Skill as outcome variable (variable Y). The data of frequency of listening English songs was obtained frm questionnaire while the data of students listening Skill was obtained from teachers assessement. The populatin of this research involved 20 students of the tenth grade at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojoagung Jombang. The result of this research was found that the correlation coefficient 0,688 was at the level sufficient correlation. It means, that the correlation between students’ frequency of listening to English song lyrics and their listening Skill at the tenth grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojoagung Jombang as sufficient correlation which is categoriszed into positive correlation because the value of correlation coefficient is a positive number.. Based on the finding, it showed that there is a significant correlation between students’ frequency listening to English song lyriscs and their listening Skill at the tenth grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojoagung Jombang in academic year 2022/2023. The researcher also want to give any suggestions 1). For English teachers are expected to provide an even understanding of the four basic English skills, The teacher can start by inviting students to listen to English songs. 2). For English learners are expected that students will often practice their respective English skills because these four basic English skills are equally important. 3). For future researchers are expected that will be able to dig deeper into the implementation of English songs on education and the effect of English songs on students' English skills.
