Thesis English Education Department. Magister Program. Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Susanto, S.S, M.Pd and Dr.Ida Isnawati, M.Pd Keywords: Beliefs and Emotions, Teacher Performance, Teaching English Beliefs and emotions that the teachers have while improving teacher’s performance can increase the success of the learning process. There is a connection between beliefs and emotions in language learning. Teacher performance is the teacher's ability to explain tasks with advanced skill and effort regarding knowledge and to use instructional materials that lead to student understanding and effective learning. The formulation of the problem in this study is “How do teachers' beliefs and emotions contribute to success in developing teacher's performance for teaching English at SDN 1 Kampungdalem?; What are the strategies for developing teacher performance for teaching English at SDN 1 Kampungdalem? The main purpose of this study is to narrate beliefs and emotions of being successful in improving teacher performance in teaching English to elementary students. This study belonged to narrative inquiry, a qualitative method. The main instrument of research is the researcher herself, because she is the one who conducted the research and developed personal data, collected data in the form of people's words, and analyzed and interpreted the data containing her thoughts and prejudices. The teacher experiences are chosen by the researcher and arranged chronologically into three categories: the initial experience (when teachers were first conducted teacher performance), the current experience (the teacher performance situation at the time), and the future experience (evaluation and desire for improved teacher performance). The participants of the research are three English teachers from SDN 1 Kampungdalem. The findings narrated every teacher has a different story in their life. Educational background, environment, and experience provide different outputs in dealing with students. Teachers have difficulties and challenges when developing teacher performance, such as learning to speak and listen, controlling students, and creating interesting teaching materials. The strategies teachers use in developing teacher performance include fully understanding the role of a teacher, mastering technology, understanding students, improving teacher abilities through various training, seminars, and webinars, and establishing good relationships with students' parents.
