Keywords: Stigma, Main Character, Discourse, Novel This study uses Okky Madasari’s novel entitled “The Years of The Voiceless” as the object of study to analyzed the forms of stigma and their impact on the lives of the main characters in the novel. In finding the forms of stigma in the novel, the researcher uses the stigma theory by Erving Goffman. The researcher chose this topic because stigma is a phenomenon that is often found in social environtment. It can have a major impact on a person’s life, such as the phenomenon depicted in the novel The Years of The Voiceless. In this regard, the researcher applied the theory of macrostructural discourse analysis to found and interpreted the forms of stigma and their impact on the main character in the novel with the formulation of the problem: "What are the forms of stigma against the main character depicted in the novel The Years of The Voiceless?" and "What is the impact of stigmatization on the main character in the novel The Years of The Voiceless?". The purpose of this study is to analyze the forms of stigma contained in the novel and to analyze the impact of stigmatization on the main character in the novel. In this study, the researcher has used a literary study research type with a qualitative approach. The method used is macrostructural discourse analysis. Because the study material is qualitative data in the form of sentences, paragraphs, and conversations content with stigmatization. The researcher found 26 data from this study. The details of the data are 12 data regarding the forms of stigmatization based on Erving Goffman's theory and 14 data regarding the impact of stigmatization related to the life of the main character. The conclusion of this explanation is based on the theory of stigma and forms of stigma by Erving Goffman. According to this data, there are two forms of stigma experienced by the two main characters in the novel, namely Deviations and Tribal Stigma. The researcher also found at least three impacts of stigmatization on the lives of the two main characters, namely in the form of economic impacts, social impacts, and psychological impacts.
