Keywords: Learning Medium, TikTok Application, Vocabulary In the digital era, social media platforms are increasingly being utilized as informal learning media, particularly among Generation Z learners. This study explores the perspective of fourth-semester students from the English Education Department at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung regarding the use of the TikTok account @intan_aaron as a medium to support the development of English vocabulary. Vocabulary is a fundamental component in mastering a second language, and the TikTok application—with its short, engaging video content—offers a novel and accessible learning approach outside the classroom. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five selected participants who are active users of TikTok and followers of the @intan_aaron account. Data were analysed using thematic analysis, which identified three major themes: (1) positive aspects of the account, (2) negative aspects, and (3) suggestions. The findings indicate that students perceive the account as a helpful supplementary learning media, particularly because it focuses on practical vocabulary used in daily life, includes clear bilingual explanations, and applies a relaxed delivery style. However, some participants expressed concerns about the visual monotony, lack of interactive features, and rigid presentation style. They suggested improvements such as integrating quizzes, increasing visual variety, and using storytelling or role-play to demonstrate vocabulary in context. In conclusion, the TikTok application, when used effectively, has the potential to serve as an engaging and supportive learning media for vocabulary acquisition. It bridges informal learning with students’ daily media habits, making language learning more contextual, visual, and relevant.
