Abstract
ABSTRACT Aziz, Muhammad Qobus Azmii. Registration Number Student: 2813133077. A Study On The Profile of Good English For Young Learner (EYL) Teacher. Thesis. English Education Program. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Keyword: Profile, Professional Teacher, Young Learner Teacher is profession, the role of teacher as communicator, giving information, giving motivation, leader in class, as the student parent at school, the person to ask, as a role model of the student. Teacher is the main factor in English teaching learning process. Teacher as a professional educator is the teacher has pedagogic competence, social competence, personal competence, and professional competence. In English teaching learning for young learner, teacher has important role in teaching learning process. Elementary school students are as young learner, in this period young learner like play game, making friends with peers, and curious with something new. A good English young learner teacher is someone who performs various competences to help students learning well. Based on explanation above, the researcher conducted a research the title is A study on the profile of good English for young learner (EYL) Teacher. The research problem is, “What are the profile of English for young learners teacher in Durenan district Trenggalek regency?”. The objectives of research are to describe the profile of English for young learner teacher in Durenan district Trenggalek regency. The research design of this research is descriptive qualitative. In this research, the data collection technique were interview, observation and documentation. The subject of the research is three English teachers for elementary schools in Durenan district, Trenggalek regency. The findings of the research showed good English teacher for young learner is teacher who has; (1) Pedagogic competence; teacher must have ability to manage students, can make lesson plan, can evaluate result of students learning, can develope of learners to actualize various potentials. (2) Social Competence; teacher must have good communication with parents, with people in school environment, with head master, with other teacher, with staff and close with students. (3) Personal competence; have a stable personality, mature, can control emotion, be a role model for learners. (4) Professional Competence; graduated from the university, has a bachelor's degree, Ability in mastery of learning materials widely. It can be concluded that a good English young learner (EYL) teacher is the one who meets the criteria of professional teacher as reflected in the findings.
