Keywords: teacher’s practices, English lesson, computer based national examination Assessment is needed in every learning process. In Indonesia, National Examination is conducted as a standardized test to get standard score for students. The old system of National Examination is paper pencil test. Nevertheless, in 2015, Indonesian government started new system of National Examination which was computer based test. Based on Educational and Culture Department of Indonesia, in academic year 2016/2017, all of Junior and Senior High Schools must apply computer based test in their school. There are some subjects included in the examination, of one them is English lesson. Since this computer based test is new system of National Examination, there should be various teacher’s practices used to prepare the students for mastering English materials and computer skill in computer based national examination Thus, this research investigates such teacher’s practices for preparing the computer based national examination in English lesson of Senior High School. The purposes of the research are to investigate the teacher’s practices in preparing English materials for national examination in English Lesson of XII MIPA students at SMAN 2 Trenggalek and to investigate the teacher’s practices in preparing computer skill for computer based national examination in English Lesson of XII MIPA students at SMAN 2 Trenggalek. The scope of this research is focused on the teacher’s practices in English lesson for preparing the computer based national examination of XII MIPA students at SMAN 2 Trenggalek academic year 2017/2018. The researcher used descriptive design with qualitative approach consisting of some data in the form of words, phrases and sentences. This utilized to describe something that is known to have occurred in the process of teacher’s practices. In conducting the research, the researcher collected the data through observation by taking field note. In addition, the researcher also interviewed an English teacher to get more information. Before doing the interview, the researcher made the interview guide and taking transcription. The researcher conducted two techniques, they are observation and interview. The subject of this research was English teacher of XII MIPA students at SMAN 2 Trenggalek. The results of this research showed that there are three teacher’s practices applied by English teacher for preparing the English materials in national examination, they are Listening Practice, Reading Practice and Cooperative Practice. Moreover, there is a teacher’s practice for preparing the computer skill in computer based national examination, they is Simulation Practice. The recommendation for further researchers is the next researchers can investigate more about the teacher’s practices for preparing the computer based national examination. There are some teacher’s practices that were found in this research. The researcher recommends the further researchers investigate the teacher’s practices in other subjects for preparing the computer based national examination. Therefore, the researcher hopes that the further researchers can get more information about the teacher’s practices for preparing the computer based national examination in some subjects.
