Keywords: Effectiveness, Students Listening Skill, Audiobook. Listening is considered as the most difficult skill for language learners to master, especially for EFL learners. In this modern era, there are some media that can be used for teacher to help them for improving their listening skill. Media are important to support success in teaching learning process to improve the students‟ listening skill. The media is audiobook. Audiobook is a book or story which is read by professional narrators using the highest quality of recording technology. Thus with audiobook the students can listen to the correct pronunciation and also listen to the variant accent. And also students can get audiobook easily they can get it on the internet on MP3 player forms, CD etc. This study was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of Audiobook on the students‟ listening skill at eighth grade students of MTs. Al-Huda Bandung. The formulations of research problem are: 1) How is the students‟ listening skill taught by using audiobook? 2) How is the students‟ listening skill taught without using audiobook? 3) Is there any significant different score of student‟s listening skill by using taught and without using audiobook? Based on the formulation of research problem, the purpose of the study is to identify the any significant differences of the student's listening skill of the eighth grade at MTs. Al-Huda Bandung taught and taught without by using audiobook. This study used quantitative approach with quasi experimental design. The population of the research is all the student‟s eighth grade at MTs. Al-Huda Bandung consists of 157 students. The sample of this research is class of VIII B consists of 33 students and VIII C consists of 33 students. The sample that are selected by random sampling. Meanwhile, the instrument used in this study is pretest and post-test. The data collected through post-test from experimental and control classes were analyze by using Independent Samples T-test with SPSS Windows 16.0. The findings showed significant differences between the results of posttest from experimental and control class. The mean of post-test score from experimental class (77.94) was higher than the mean of post-test from control class (67.27). It means that there was increasing score on the students‟ listening skill. From statistical calculation, of T-test showed that the Sig.value was 0.000. It was smaller than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. And it could be concluded that there was any significant difference between experimental class (using Audiobook) and control class (without using Audiobook). The use of Audiobook is effective on students‟ listening skill at MTs. Al-Huda Bandung. In other words, the use of Audiobook can be alternative media to teach listening.
