Keywords: content analysis, textbook, textbook evaluation In the process of teaching and learning English, textbook has important role in order to help teacher to provide the materials. In addition, textbook is one important factor in implementing 2013 Curriculum as the recent curriculum that has been launched by Ministry of Education and Culture. In fact, many textbooks are produced and distributed to schools which have been arranged based on 2013 Curriculum. 2013 Curriculum was revised to make more perfect. Nowadays, the 2013 Curriculum applied is the 2017 revision. In this case, the textbook “English Learning Material for SMK/MAK and SMA/MA XI A 2013 Curriculum” which published by LP2IP Yogyakarta and was arranged based on 2013 Curriculum needs to be analyzed whether it is still suitable with the 2013 curriculum 2017 revision or not and has good quality or not. The formulation of research problems are 1) Is the textbook “Learning Materials for SMK/MAK and SMA/MA XI A 2013 Curriculum published by LP2IP Yogyakarta” considered relevant to the English syllabus based on 2013 curriculum 2017 revision? 2) Are the EFL Textbook Evaluation Criteria based on Jahangard (2007) supported by some criteria from Cunningsworth (1995) fulfilled by the textbook “Learning Materials for SMK/MAK and SMA/MA XI A based on 2013 Curriculum published by LP2IP Yogyakarta”? The study belonged to content analysis design with qualitative approach. The source of the data is “English Learning Material for SMK/MAK and SMA/MA XI A 2013 Curriculum” published by LP2IP Yogyakarta. In collecting the data, the researcher used documentation method. The instrument used in this study is the English syllabus 2013 Curriculum 2017 Revision and checklist criteria from Ali Jahangard (2007) supported by some criteria from Cunningsworth (1995). Data analysis covered 1) organizing and familiarizing, 2) coding and reducing, and 3) interpreting and representing. Data verification is checking the result by using time triangulation. The results of the research show that 1) Five modules from eight modules in this textbook are related with the English syllabus 2013 Curriculum 2017 Revision for the first semester of eleventh grade. They are Module 1 A, Module I B, Module 2, Module 4, and Module 7. 2) All the criteria proposed could be completed by the textbook. It can be seen from the number of relevancies of the thirteen criteria that all of them are relevant. However, there are some weaknesses in term of vocabulary explanation, periodic review, visual material, and layout. Based on the study above, the researcher can provide the advices to teachers who use the materials from this textbook to be creative in using the materials by improving the weakness from this textbook through adapting from different sources or making the own material. In addition, the weakness of this textbook becomes the evaluation for the writer of the textbook to make the better one in the next edition.
