Sarjana Thesis. English Department Faculty Of Tarbiyah And Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr.Susanto.SS.M.Pd. Keywords: Teachers’ Professionalism, Teaching, EFL Instruction, The role of teacher in teaching English is very important. According to the Law of Teacher and Lecture No.14/2005, it is stated that “Teacher is a professional educator who has major task to educate, teach, guide, direct, asses and evaluate the learner on education starting from pre-intermediate, intermediate and intermediate to advance through the formal education”. In English instruction teachers have important roles. Teacher as the pioneer of successful teaching has to have good competence to do the task of educational. The teachers should also have personal and social competence so that they can be a model for their students and can build good relationship with their students and school society. English teachers have to be well prepared in everything. Based on this statement, the researcher wants to conduct a study about “Teachers’ Professionalism Reflected in An English Foreign Language (EFL) Instruction at MTsN 1 Trenggalek”. The problem concerned in this Research were: (1) How Is The Teachers’ Professionalism Reflected In Teaching Practice? (2) How Is The Teachers’ Professionalism In Creating Learning Environment? (3) How Is The Teachers’ Professionalism In Evaluating Students English Achievement? Research Method: (1) The Research Design in this study was Descriptive Design with Qualitative Approach, (2) the focus of the present study was novice teacher that taught at sevent grade students of MTsN 1 Trenggalek, (3) The Subjects of this study were selected three English teachers’ at MTsN 1 Trenggalek. (4) The Researcher used Methodology Triangulation in order to check the credibility of the data by using different Techniques such as Observation and Interview. (5) The Data Analysis for the present study was done by applying Data Reduction, Data Display and Conclusion Drawing. (1) The Finding Showed Teachers’ Professionalism Reflected In Teaching Practice were in the future that The Researcher made the best based on the course objectives in the syllabus of the seven grade of MTsN 1 Trenggalek. In teaching, syllabus as guide to make lesson plan. Lesson plan consist of Basic Competence, Indicator, Learning Objective, Learning Methodology, Learning Strategy, Learning Activities, Teaching Media and Learning Source, Scoring Rubric:Instrument. (2) The Finding Showed Teachers’ Professionalism Reflected In Creating Learning Environment were in the future that the teacher opens the lesson relaxed and light. The teacher knows the name of the students. The teacher gives up warming. The teacher asks/matches the task. The teacher uses the previous lesson to explain the next lesson. The teacher explains the lesson confidently and clearly. The teacher uses The Method: Grammar Translation Method, The Audio-Lingual Method, The Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community Language Teaching, Total Physical Response. The Teacher uses The Media: Language Laboratory, Magazine Book/Picture Animation/Picture, Laptop/Internet/Games, Picture Series. The teacher uses the approach: communicative language teaching. The Teacher control and regulates the class. The Teacher tries to motivate students. The Teacher gives students to opportunity to ask questions. The Teacher asks students to do assignments. The Teacher gives conclusion on the material provided. The Teacher provides traditional/formal,alternative,informal evaluations. (3) The Finding Showed Teachers’ Professionalism Reflected In Students English Achievement were in the future that used Learning Activities. Language skill are Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing Skills. Speaking Skill consist of Pre-Discussion,Discussion,Post-Discussion. Activities to promote Speaking : Discussion, Roleplay, Simulation, Information Gap, Brainstorming, Interviews, Story Completion, Picture Narrating, Picture Describing, Find The Difference.
