Keywords: Effectiveness, Students Listening Skill, English Story with Audios Application. Listening is one of the language skills that is considered difficult to master. To help these skills, the right media is needed, namely the English Story with Audios application. The following applications provide a variety of simple stories with various features. Stories are read by native speaker narrators with good quality. Students get this application by downloading it on Google PlayStore via computer or smartphone. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the English Story with Audios application on the listening skills of second grade students in MTs. Sunan Kalijogo. The formulation of the problem in the study: Is there any significant difference in listening skills between the second grade students of MTs. Sunan Kalijogo taught by using English Story with Audios application and those taught without using English Story with Audios application?. Based on the following research problem formulation, the purpose of this study was to identify significant differences in the listening skills of the second grade students of MTs. Sunan Kalijogo was taught with English Story with Audios application and taught without English Story with Audios application.This research used a quasi-experimental design method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students from the second grade at MTs. Sunan Kalijogo consisted of 65 students. The sample used in this study was purposive sampling by obtaining class VIII B consisting of 21 students and class VIII C consisting of 21 students. This study used a test as a research instrument by conducting a pretest and post-test. The data of pretest was collected to find out that the two of classes were equal before being given treatment. Research data were collected through post-test from the experimental class and the control class. The method used by researcher to collect data is the Independent Sample T-test with SPSS 21.0. The results of the post-test between the experimental and control classes showed that there was a significant difference. The data shows the post-test mean of the experimental class is 66.75 and the post-test mean of the control class is 52.25. This means that there is an increase in scores of students’ listening skills. From the statistical calculation data, the T-test shows that the P-value is 0.003. Less than 0.05 (0.003<0.05). This means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It can be concluded that between the experimental class (using the English Story with Audios application) and the control class (without using the English Story with Audios application) there is significant difference. Thus, the use of the English Story with Audios application as a learning media to teach listening skills is effective.
