Keywords: Word Formation, Types of Word Formation, Twitter Language has a major role in our daily communication, as a communication tool among humans. Listeners and speakers have stored billions of words to innumerable words in their brain to be used in their daily lives both in spoken and written to communicate with each other. Written language is more formal than spoken language. The writer has to follow a lot of writing rules in order to be able to express ideas in good writing and can be easy to understand. One of the language developments is creating new words by using word formation. These research formulations are: 1) What word formations are found in Poem Heaven's posts on Twitter? 2) How are the structures of words that result from finding each type of word formation? The aims of this study are: 1) To find out the type of word formation found in @poemheaven posts on twitter. 2) To elaborate the structures of words that result from finding each type of word formation in @poemheaven posts on twitter. This research is qualitative category with a content analysis approach and uses a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher obtained the data from the poem heaven's posts on twitter. This research analyzes the data by using the theory of Yule (2010) and uses Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries as the secondary sources to analyze the data. The result of the analysis shows that there were 68 words which include word formation. The researcher found eight categories of word formation in that content posted by Poem Heaven's account. Compounding, derivation, blending, acronyms, borrowing, conversion, backformation, and clipping. There are two most dominant word formation processes found: compounding and derivation. The first compounding with the majority of nouns formed as a result. Some of those words are lexical combinations of two different kinds, and some others those words are lexical combinations of two same kinds that are combined without changing or deleting anything to create a new word with a new meaning. The second derivation with the majority of nouns formed. Those words come from a word that is added with a prefix, a suffix and also both which has a new meaning.
