The Effectiveness of Online Reading through “Audiobooks” on Vocabulary Mastery in The Eleventh Grade at SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung, Thesis, English Education Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Muh. Basuni, M.Pd. Keywords: Online Reading, Audiobooks, Vocabulary Mastery Mastery of vocabulary is one of the important aspects in foreign language learning. As an element connecting the four language skills of English, vocabulary mastery is expected to help students gain a lot of knowledge in mastering language skills. In fact, many English students have difficulty in mastering vocabulary. Therefore, teachers need to use certain methods to solve these problems. In this millennium, one of the ways to practice vocabulary mastery is to read online through audio books. Reading online through audiobooks aims to make students interested in learning English rather than boring. Because in audiobooks there are reading and how to pronounce according to the writing in reading. Let students not only know the new vocabulary, but also the correct pronunciation. This research aims to understand whether the method of online reading through audiobooks is effective for teaching vocabulary. The expression of the research question is "Is it effective on the vocabulary mastery of class XI students of SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung?" Research methods: 1) The research design of this research adopts quantitative methods to conduct preliminary experiments, 2) the population of this research is 11 grade of SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung, 3) the sample is XI TEI 1, composed of 32 students, 4) research tools To test, 5) T test is used for data analysis. The results of this study show that online reading through audiobooks can be effectively used in the vocabulary mastery teaching of the 11th grade of SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulunagung. The effectiveness of online reading through audiobooks can be reflected in the following points: 1) The average score of students in the pre-test is 63.75, and the average score in the post-test is 78.75. The gain of the average score is 15 2) The t-test result of the 0.05 significance level shows that the significance value (sig-2 tailed) 0.00 is less than 0.05 (0.00<0.05), which means that H₀ is rejected and Hα is accepted. The results show that there is a significant difference in vocabulary between the students who teach online reading through audio books and the students who teach by traditional methods. Therefore, online reading through audio books is not only effective for young learners, but also effective for the eleventh grade of SMKN 3 Boyolangu Tulungagung.
