Keywords: habit in watching movie, vocabulary mastery, subtitle. The most important element of language is vocabulary and learning English can start with learning vocabulary. Without mastering vocabulary, it will be difficult for students to communicate of convey their ideas effectively to others. Vocabulary mastery refers to the number of words from certain language that someone knows. Students can do many things to increase their vocabulary mastery. The habit of watching movies subtitle provide some opportunities to learning English especially vocabulary mastery. The formulation of research question in this study was: Is there any significant correlation between students’ habit in watching movies subtitle and their vocabulary mastery at MTs Miftaahul Uluum Sutojayan? Based on the formulation of research question above, the objective of this research was to know there is any correlation between students’ habit in watching movies and their vocabulary mastery at MTs Miftaahul Uluum Sutojayan. This study used correlation research design. The population of this study was the third grade of MTs Miftaahul Uluum Sutojayan. The sample was 37 students by using purposive sampling in one class (A class). In collecting data, the researcher used questionnaire to find out the students’ habit in watching movies subtitle and vocabulary test for measure their level of vocabulary mastery. The collected data were using Pearson Product Moment Correlation by SPSS version 26. The result of this research shows that there is no significant relationship between students’ habit in watching movies and their vocabulary mastery at MTs Miftaahul Uluum Sutojayan. It can be proved by the value of r xy = 0.012 and the score for 5% level of significance is 0.325, it should be noted that the value of r t 5% level of significance was obtained from the d f = 35 which was attained from list of r table. It means 0.012 < 0.0325 (the correlation is lower than r table). The researcher concluded that there is very low correlation between students’ habit in watching movies and their vocabulary mastery at MTs Miftaahul Uluum Sutojayan.
