Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Of Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr. Susanto, M, Pd. Keywords: Feedback, Speaking Class Speaking, among the other English skill; listening, writing, and reading; is regarded as the most valuable and important skill. Learning English can’t be separated from learning speaking. Ability in speaking indicates that student’s success in learning foreign language. Foreign language learner mostly experienced of making mistakes and fearful to speak in target language. But, Practically in speaking the students often do not realize they makes error. Feedback is important to make students realize their error or mistake. From the given feedback it canbe used to improve the students’ speaking There are two research problems in this research, they are: (1) What types of feedback are both the teacher and the students employed in speaking class? (2) To what extend are the given feedbacks contributive to improve students’ speaking learning?The purposes of the study are: (1) To find out the types of the teacher and the students’ feedback on speaking class. (2)To be able to know the given feedbacks contributive to improve students’ speaking learning. This resercher applied descriptive design with qualitative approach. The data of this study are kind of feedback employed by both teacher and students in speaking class. The subject of this research are English teacher and some students are selected based on the certain criteria. The criteria are the students who come into the class during feedback are given and students who participated actively following the class. . Technique of data colletion in this study were doing observation, conducting interview, and making field note. The resercher finds various type of feedback employed by both teacher and students in speaking class. They are (1)Praise, (2)Suggestion, (3)Criticism and (4) Corrective. Meanwhile, the employed feedback were contributed for students speaking proficiency, in which : (1) Can influence students’ motivation and confidence ,(2) Suggestion makes students realize the strength and the weakness of their work, (3) contains information that could be helpful understanding students weakness as evaluation to make students them better in speaking and (4) Corrective fedback helps students in producing correct grammar and pronunciation.
