Abstract
ABSTRACT Fadhila, Salsabila Nuril. Student Registered Number. 126203202127. “Improving Students’ Speaking Skill by Using Dubbing Video in The Second Grade Students of MTsN 6 Tulungagung.”. Keyword: Students’ Speaking Skill, Dubbing Video Technique This research is motivated by the phenomenon that speaking is one of the basic skills for English students that is important to master. Through speaking, students can convey their ideas and express feelings using language. The voiceover technique is quite an interesting technique to give students the opportunity to change the voice of the caster in a video on a chosen topic. The focus of the research problem is that dubbing video can improve the speaking skills of second grade MTsN 6 Tulungagung. The purpose of this research is to prove whether the video dubbing technique can solve students' speaking skills problems more easily in class VII B MTsN 6 Tulungagung which consists of 30 students. In overcoming the problems of learning English, especially in speaking, faced by students, researchers used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The action research model used is the Kemmis and McTaggart research model, where each cycle consists of four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. To support the results of this research, researchers collected two types of data, namely qualitative data, namely data obtained through observations of the students and teachers concerned. And quantitative data is data obtained from test results, both preliminary tests and cycle tests. Then the data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and statistical analysis to find out the final results of the application of video dubbing to English language learning in Classroom Action Research. The results of this research indicate that the application of video dubbing techniques to English language learning, especially students' speaking skills, is effective or quite good. This is proven by several data obtained, first; observation data where students are more motivated and interested in learning English. Second; data from the test results which consist of three types of tests, namely preliminary test, cycle 1 test and cycle 2 test. After implementing video dubbing, an increase in the average student score in the cycle 2 test was 77.20 with 76.66% of students able to pass the Teaching Completeness Criteria. (KKM=75), the preliminary test results showed that the students' average score was only 68.93, and in the cycle-1 test, the students' average score was 73.20. So it shows a significant improvement in teaching speaking with video dubbing techniques. Based on this data, it means that 23 out of 30 students met the specified criteria and this research was declared successful.
