Abstract

Thesis under the title "The Reading Skill Materials in The Book of The Arabic Language Curriculum 2013 for Islamic High School (Analytical Study in Terms of The Basis for Preparing Textbooks for Non-native Speakers in Arabic)" by Rifky Rosian An Nur, guided by Dr. Sokib, M. PdI, and Dr. Kojin, MA. Keyword: Reading Skill Materials, The Basis for Preparing Textbooks The background of this letter by the importance of a good study materials to teach the Arabic language in particular subjects to teach reading skills. This stems from the reading skills is essential skill of language skills. It is one of the most important acquisition of knowledge, culture and access to information from printed sources. The textbook is a major source of students to the educational process depends in the class on the textbook, therefore the reading material in the book of the Arabic language curriculum in 2013 Islamic high school need to evaluate, is the read material in this book take the basis for preparing textbooks for non-Arabic speakers or not. The issues of this letter are 1) What the basis that must be met in the reading material in the book of the Arabic language curriculum 2013 which is used in the Islamic high school?, 2) How does the availability of these basis in reading material that are found in the book of the Arabic language curriculum 2013 which is used in the Islamic high school?, 3) What aspects of the positives and negatives in the material reading in the book of the Arabic language curriculum 2013 which is used in the Islamic high school? This study included literature research using content analysis method which is a kind of descriptive research method. The results indicated to 1) principles that must be met in the reading material there are four principles, namely the principle of socio-cultural, psychological principles, the principle of linguistic and educational principles. while the number of items there are 70 items divided into four principle, the principle of socio-cultural 13 items, 12 items psychology principle, the principle of linguistic 16 items and 29 items of education principle. 2) that the reading material in the book of the Arabic language curriculum 2013 in Islamic high school most of the four bases has become available only in a few. 3) the positive and the negative side, so the possibility of reading material to provide students with the necessary own cultures and encourage them to use of the Arabic language to express their culture and exchange them with Arabic speakers. The negative side in the book of the Arabic language for tenth grade is not to provide Islamic culture and specificity of Arab culture and the presence of the error in the texts submitted and jam the lines of texts even stuck harakat between the line and not to adjust the texts of the three harakat as well as inflectional harakat and not to the proposal for the use of teaching aids and lack of sound recordings set. In the book of the Arabic language for eleven grade the negative is the lack of specificity of the Arab culture and not to adjust the texts of the three harakat as well as inflectional harakat and not to purpose for the use of teaching aids and lack of sound recordings set.
