Keywords: Learning Material, Song Lyrics, Speaking. The fact shows that mastering speaking enables the students to use is in some different purposes. However, utilizing using material, such as song lyrics is important to be done. This study was directed to investigating the students These components include understanding pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Speaking mastery is said to be very difficult in a country where the language is not used in everyday life. Mastering speaking skills in a language means being able to manage and analyze the language context. In speaking, there are three components needed when composing sentences to communicate. Thus, this study aims to explore how song lyric material can affect students’ speaking learning at MTsN 2 Kota Blitar. The formulation of research question was “How are the students' perceptions on the use of song lyrics as material to facilitate English speaking learning?” This study used descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were IX-grade students of MTsN 2 Kota Blitar. The sample of this study consisted of 64 students taken from class classes IX-C and IX-G who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was carried out using a questionnaire through a survey. Researchers had conducted a tryout to determine the validity and reliability of the questions using the SPSS 24.0 application. Then, the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tests. The results showed that there was a positive response of the students on the use of song lyrics as learning materials for English speaking. Based on the findings, in the pronunciation indicator it was found that 80% of students agreed on the of use song lyrics. Then, in the vocabulary indicator it was found that 80% of students agreed on the use of song lyrics. In addition, in the grammar indicator it was found that 74% of students agreed on the use of song lyrics. The average value of students’ responses was 3.9. Regarding to the table of interpreting, the average 3.9 belonged to a positive response.
