Keywords: effectiveness, tiktok videos, students’vocabulary mastery Vocabulary mastery is fundamental to learning English skills. Students who lack vocabulary will have difficulty in learning English. Therefore, learning media is needed to enhance students’ vocabulary mastery. Learning media can motivate students to learn vocabulary. TikTok videos is one of the learning media to help students learn vocabulary. This study aims to determine significant differences in students’ vocabulary scores before and after being taught by using TikTok videos at SMKN 1 Boyolangu and to measure the effectiveness of TikTok videos in increasing students’ vocabulary mastery. The formulation of the problem in this study “Is there any significant difference scores on students’ vocabulary mastery before and after being taught by using TikTok videos at SMKN 1 Boyolangu?”. The design of this research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The population of this study is the eleventh-grade students of SMKN 1 Boyolangu. The sample is class XI AKL 4 which consists of 37 students. The instrument used in this research is a test with the form of multiple-choice. The tests used in this study are pre-test and post-test. The data analysis of this study used a paired sample t-test. The results of this study show that the use of TikTok videos is effective for vocabulary mastery. It can be seen that the average score of the students on the pre-test and post-test. From 58.81 it increases to 76.65. The result of the paired sample t-test shows a significance value of 0.000 and less than 0.0050 (0.000 < 0.005). Hence, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded, there was a significant difference score in students’ vocabulary mastery before and after taught with TikTok videos. This means that using TikTok videos was effective for increasing vocabulary.
