Keywords: Effectiveness, U-dictionary, Spelling. U-Dictionary is a learning tool in the form of an electronic dictionary that helps students improve their spelling skills. By using U-Dictionary, students can also gain a deeper understanding of English also can be used not only to translate many other languages compiled into an English dictionary. This application can interpret the translation according to the action of how to study, work, and travel. It can be used effectively as a tutorial to learn spelling. Spelling is explained as the formation of letters in the accepted order of spelling an expert in teaching literacy says that spelling is a visual representation of a child’s language processing. Spelling skill also huge impact on a person’s writing ability, reading comprehension, and speaking ability. The formulation of the research questions is: (1) Does U-Dictionary effective in teaching spelling words at SMKN 1 Boyolangu. Based on the research problems formulation, the objective of this research is: (1) Whether the U-Dictionary is effective in teaching spelling words at SMKN 1 Boyolangu. This study used pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The population was the XI grade students at SMKN 1 Boyolangu. The sample was 38 students of XI AKL3 chosen through purposive sampling technique. The instrument used by the researcher is essay (fill in the blank) pre-test and post-test are the test used in this research. The data analysis of this research used independent sample t-test by using SPSS 25.0 for windows. The results of this study are: (1) This is evidenced by the hypothesis test. In this study, the significance value is 0.000, which is smaller than the significance level (0.000 < 0.050). we conclude that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. U-Dictionary adalah alat pembelajaran berupa kamus elektronik yang membantu siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengeja. Dengan menggunakan U-Dictionary, siswa juga dapat memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang bahasa Inggris serta dapat digunakan tidak hanya untuk menerjemahkan berbagai bahasa lain yang dikompilasi ke dalam kamus bahasa Inggris. Aplikasi ini dapat menginterpretasikan terjemahan sesuai dengan tindakan cara belajar, bekerja, dan bepergian. Aplikasi ini juga dapat digunakan secara efektif sebagai tutorial untuk mempelajari ejaan. Ejaan dijelaskan sebagai pembentukan huruf dalam urutan ejaan yang diterima. Seorang ahli dalam pengajaran literasi mengatakan bahwa ejaan adalah representasi visual dari pemrosesan bahasa anak. Kemampuan mengeja juga memiliki dampak yang besar terhadap kemampuan menulis, pemahaman membaca, dan kemampuan berbicara seseorang. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah: (1) Apakah U-Dictionary efektif dalam mengajarkan ejaan kata di SMKN 1 Boyolangu. Berdasarkan rumusan masalah penelitian, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Apakah U-Dictionary efektif dalam mengajarkan ejaan kata di SMKN 1 Boyolangu. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pra-eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di SMKN 1 Boyolangu. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 38 siswa kelas XI AKL3 yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah pre-test dan post-test berbentuk essay (fill in the blank) yang merupakan tes yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Analisis data dari penelitian ini menggunakan independent sample t-test dengan menggunakan SPSS 25.0 for windows. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji hipotesis. Dalam penelitian ini, nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi (0,000 < 0,050), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Jumlah sampel pre-test dan post-test adalah 38 siswa.
