English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Islamic University Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr. H. Nursamsu, S.Pd.I., M.Pd. Keywords : Improving, Vocabulary mastery, Modifier, Writing notes. In carrying out learning activities, there is a close relationship between teachers and students that seems close but in practice looks distant. This relationship is rooted in the role of the teacher as a contributor of material and students as recipients of material. Therefore, it can be said that students' daily learning activities greatly influence their learning patterns. In addition, the learning process also has a big impact on students' academic grades. As a teacher, it is important to find a method that suits the characteristics of students. Given the diverse learning patterns of students, it can be concluded that each student has different learning tendencies. In this research, researcher try to implementing writing notes during learning process to improve students’ less vocabulary number. The purpose of this research is to to increase students' grade XI TSM 2, SMK Islam 2 Durenan English vocabulary mastery which can help their English language skills in the future, to help students’ focus with the material during the learning process for grade XI TBSM 2, SMK Islam 2 Durenan, to help students develop their ability to organize learning material by implementing writing notes activity for grade XI TBSM 2, SMK Islam 2 Durenan. This research uses a classroom action research approach conducted at SMK Islam 2 Durenan, Trenggalek. The subjects of the study are 22 students from class XI TSM 2, categorized into low and medium vocabulary proficiency levels, each consisting of 22 students. The study consists of two cycles aimed at achieving the criteria of success. Data collection methods include preliminary test and post tests, as well as weekly assignments given to the students. The effectiveness of the instructional strategy is evaluated based on the students' performance in these tests and assignments. In the other hand the improvement in student scores over time serves as the primary benchmark for determining the success of this research. The results of this study are The increase in students' English language skills which can be seen from the increase in English vocabulary, Increased students' ability to organize learning materials through note writing activities, Increased students' learning archives which will be useful for students' English learning journey.
