Keywords: digital literacy competence, hypertext reading comprehension, correlation. Digital literacy is one of the essential competencies in the 21st-century learning environment. In the context of reading, especially in digital text, students are required to comprehend hypertext materials that involve non-linear reading paths and multiple sources of information. Therefore, students' digital literacy is expected to support their ability to understand hypertext reading materials effectively. The research question of this research is "Is there any significant correlation between students’ digital literacy competence and their hypertext reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Durenan Trenggalek?", which aims to find out whether there is significant correlation between digital literacy competence and hypertext reading comprehension achievement of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Durenan or not. This study used correlational research design with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 62 students which were taken by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used were questionnaire to measure students’ digital literacy competence and test to measured students’ hypertext reading comprehension. Data analysis technique in the study used Pearson Product moment Correlation Formula through SPSS 29 to calculate the correlation coefficient. Further, this study involved module and media experts, teachers, and students to validate the developed module through questionaries. The results of this study showed that the calculation of data analysis using Pearson Product moment shows the significance value of 0.001, this is lower than the significant level of 0.05 which indicates that significant with the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was not rejected. The calculation results also show that the correlation coefficient value is 0.408 which indicates that there is a significant moderate positive correlation between students’ digital literacy competence and students’ hypertext reading comprehension of eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Durenan. This means that every increase in the students’ digital literacy competence affected the increase in their hypertext reading comprehension skills.
