Keywords: Anxiety, Vocabulary Knowledge, Reading Comprehension, Descriptive Text. This study investigated the relationship of students‘ anxiety, vocabulary knowledge, and reading activity. The writer observed in Eighth grade students at SMPN 2 Pogalan that some students who lack vocabulary were anxious to do reading comprehension tests and got low results on the test. The writer found some students’ problems when reading comprehension tests, such as students still having difficulty getting the text’s central idea, ignoring their vocabulary knowledge, often having anxiety when reading text in the class, and lacking vocabulary. Thus the writer conduct this research to recognize and characterize the correlation between students’ anxiety and reading comprehension of descriptive text. And then to recognize and characterize the correlation between students’ vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension of descriptive text. Lastly, to understand and characterize the correlation between anxiety, vocabulary knowledge, and reading comprehension of descriptive text. The researcher employed a correlational research strategy in conjunction with a quantitative methodology in order to collect the data. The population of this study was 134 students from the Eighth-Grade Students in SMPN 2 Pogalan in Academic Year 2025/2026. The sample was taken using a random sampling technique consisting of 51 students. The study used the FLCAS questionnaire, vocabulary, and reading comprehension of descriptive text tests to gather the data. This study utilized a correlational design to analyze the correlation of the three variables. The study results showed a negative correlation between students' anxiety and reading comprehension of descriptive text, with a correlation coefficient of -0,662. There was a positive correlation between students' vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension of descriptive text with a correlation coefficient of 0,895. There was a correlation among students' anxiety, vocabulary knowledge, and reading comprehension of descriptive text with a multiple correlation coefficient of 0,896. The data revealed a strong correlation between students‘ anxiety, vocabulary knowledge, and reading comprehension of descriptive text and the variable contribution was 80,3 %. Hence, the study suggested decreasing students‘ anxiety and increasing vocabulary knowledge to get high scores in reading comprehension of descriptive tests.
