Keywords: Speaking Ability, Board Games In the mastery of English, there are several skills that must be learned by the students. One is speaking skill. Speaking skill is a very important skill to have good communication, especially in International communication. Speaking is also important to increase the English speaking score. The use of Board Game creates a condition that makes speaking is easier to do. In this method, students are divided into several group. So it make them easier to tell their opinion with their friend in small group. The problem formulation in this research is: 1) How is the students’ ability in speaking who are taught by using Board game?, 2) How is the students’ ability in speaking who are taught without using Board game?, 3) Is there any significant difference on the students’ ability in speaking between who are taught by using and without using Board game? Research method: 1) The research design of this study was quasi experimental design with quantitative approach, 2) The population of this study was the second grade students of MA AL-MA’ARIFTulungagung, 3) The samples were XI 2 class as control group consisted of 20 students and X1 1 class as experimental class consisted of 20 students, 4) The data analysis was using Two Samples Independent T-test. The result of the research is the mean score of experimental class was 60.84, while the mean score of the students in the control group was 40.00. the researcher used T-test calculations with SPSS 20.0 version to measure hypothesis testing. The result of T-test calculation showed that sig (2-Tailed) value was less than 0.05 significance level, which was 0,000 <0.05. it means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Based on the result above can be concluded that the students of the second grade at MA AL-MA’ARIF Tulungagung have better score taught by using Board Game in teaching speaking than those students who learning speaking without using Board game. It is simply concluded that the Board game is effective to teaching speaking in the students of Senior High School.
