Keywords: peer support, thesis writing anxiety, English education Writing a thesis is one of the academic requirements that must be completed by the students, including English Education students. In the process of writing a thesis, many students experience anxiety or thesis writing anxiety that can hinder the smooth preparation of their thesis. This anxiety can arise due to various factors, such as difficulty writing, revision pressure, and fear of making mistakes. One thing that can help students cope with this anxiety is peer support. The formulation of this study was: 1) What are the roles of peer support as experienced by English Education students in managing thesis writing anxiety? 2) How does peer support contribute to managing thesis writing anxiety among English Education students? Therefore, this study aims to determine the role of peer support experienced by final year English Education students in managing thesis writing anxiety. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The research subjects are students of the English Education Study Program who are currently writing their theses. Data were collected through in-depth interviews to find out the students' experiences related to thesis writing anxiety and how peer support helped them overcome it. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis to find the main themes from the interview results. The results showed that peer support plays an important role in helping students manage thesis writing anxiety. In addition, peer support also helps increase students' confidence and reduce anxiety during the thesis writing process. This study also found that support from close friends was perceived to be more effective than limited support. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that peer support plays an important role in helping English Education students manage thesis writing anxiety. This study is expected to serve as a consideration for students and the university in creating a more supportive academic environment during the thesis writing process.
