ABSTRACT Rahayu, Ingka. NIM 17203153168. 2019. “Students’ Perspective on The Use of Vlog Media For Speaking Class at Smk Negeri 01 Pagerwojo. Thesis. Tadris English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Nany Soengkono Madayani, SS, M.Pd. Keywords: Perspective, Students, Vlog, Speaking. Learning English is important for students at school. It is because some people often measure the success in English is based on the improvement of learner speaking ability In English classes. The students are taught to speak English, but not all students can speak English without their difficulties. Some of students have problem in communicating English orally. So, the teacher uses some teaching media to facility students more easily. One that is using vlog media to help them as facility for speaking English. This research is conducted to investigate students' perspective on the use Vlog media for English speaking class. By knowing the student's perspectives, it concluded how teaching and learning media should be used. If students have a good perspective of Vlogs, then it can be used as a English teaching media, while they have negative perspective means this media is not appropriate for them in the class. The formulation of research problem was: how are students’ perspectives on the use of vlog media for speaking class at SMK Negeri 01 Pagerwojo. The research aim was to investigate students’ perspective on the use of vlog media for speaking class at SMK Negeri 01 Pagerwojo. This research was applied descriptive quantitative with survey design. The respondent of this study was student of X DPIB 1 at SMK Negeri 01 Pagerwojo. The researcher distributed questionnaire for thirty one students and did interview for two students as data collection method. The data analysis was using Likert Scale to find out the range score of questionnaire items. Next, the researcher used Microsoft Excel to calculate the result form of percentage. Than the result of percentage for each is matched with range of index. The results of the questionnaire show that almost all students had a good perspective on the use of Vlog. They agree that Vlog helped them to speak English more. The students also were motivated in creating Vlog. The results of the interview also showed that with Vlog students found their mistakes, so they could overcome their self to speak English better. It meant Vlog is one of teaching media that appropriate to be used in English class.
