Abstract

ABSTRACT Alfin, Rusydin (1720163137). 2020 The Effectiveness of E-Module in Teaching Writing of Invitation Card at MTS Darul Hikmah Tawangsari Tulungagung in Academic year 2019/2020. Thesis of English Education Department at Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers’ Training State Islamic Institute Studies (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr.H.Nursamsu,S.Pd.,M.Pd. Keyword : Teaching Writing, E-Module, Invitation Card Teaching writing is intended to make the students produce text correct by using a good generic structure and language feature. It also involves many kinds of sort functional texts and of them is invitation card. Invitation card aims to invite someone to come in his or her program. One of the media that is used to teach writing skill in this research is e module. E-module is a module that represent in digital by using PC or smartphone contain the material of invitation card also the video. By using e-module, the attention of students will be more focused, so material and video can create their inspiration. In this research, the researcher is interested in conducting the title about The Effectiveness of Using E-module in Teaching Writing of Invitation Card at MTs Darul Hikmah Tawangsari Tulunggaung. The formulation of the research problem is “Is there any significant difference of student achievement between before and after being taught by using E-module?”. The purposes of the research is to find out if there is any significant difference achievement of study between before and after being taught by using e-module. Research method used in this study was quantitative method. The research design in this study was experimental design with quantitative approach by using Quasi- Experimental Design with Nonrandomized Control group, pretest – posttest design. The population of this study was the whole of second grade at MTs Darul Hikmah Tulungagung that consist of 133 students, the sample were 8F class that consisting 30 students as experimental class and 8D class that consisting of 30 students as control class. The research instrument was test. In this research the data was analyze by using t-test, with the helped of SPSS Windows 16.0.The result showed that the mean achievement of the experimental group was higher than the mean achievement of the control group. While, the mean achievement of experimental class was 80.40 and the mean achievement of control class was 65.00. The result of the research findings, the significant level (sig) is 0.000, and it is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It was found that there is significant difference of students achievement between before and after who are taught by using e-module and those who are not. It means that teaching using e-module is effective. The null hypothesis stated that there is no significant difference on the students’ writing achievement who are taught before using e-module and after using e-module. Alternative hypothesis stated that accepted in other word there is an effectiveness of using e-module for teaching invitation card at MTs Darul Hikmah Tawangsari in the academic year 2019/2020.
