Keywords: content analysis, English textbook, curriculum This research is aimed to find out whether the content of the book has fulfilled the criteria of the English textbook “BRIGHT” used by students of the first grade in Junior High School based on Kurikulum 2013 and to know if this textbook meets the requirements of content feasibility, and language from BSNP (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan) and Pusbuk (Pusat Perbukuan). The result of this study is hoped that it can help the teachers and the publisher as the reference of how a good content of the textbook is and help to fulfill the criteria of the textbook based on the national standard if there is a limitation of the material needed. The population of this study was English textbook “BRIGHT” which contains 12 chapters and the researcher used 6 chapters as the sample. The researcher used the qualitative method with content analysis approach. While the research instrument applied in this study was the assessment from the researcher herself and the data were taken from the English textbook “BRIGHT” used by the students of the first grade of Junior High School and the Kurikulum 2013. The result if this study shows that most of contents in English textbook entitled “BRIGHT” have fulfilled the criteria of content feasibility, language and the arrangement of the material which is presented. These standards have met the criteria from BSNP and Pusbuk, that is appropriate with the content of base competence and competence standard, but in the sub-aspect of diversity insight. Besides, the content, language and arrangement of this English textbook “BRIGHT” are also met the criteria of BSNP and Pusbuk.
