Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. H. Nursamsu, M.Pd. Keywords: The Implementation of ICT, Teaching English. There are two ways of teaching. The first is traditional way and the second is modern way of teaching. The traditional way also called as teacher-centered, where teacher explaining the materials through whiteboard or based on textbook. While, modern way is more likely teacher giving the materials with the help of technology and students demand to be more active. It is called as ICT-based Teaching (Information and Communication Technology). In this modern era, the development of technology being increased in almost every part of human being. People are being more aware with the use of technology for every sector of life. Indeed, with the help of technology, the teaching and learning process, it was expected to be more having a quality and students ability in English also getting improved. The research problem of the research are (1) the teacher preparation of teaching English by using ICT, (2) the implementation of ICT for teaching English by using ICT, and (3) the evaluation on students’ progress in English by using ICT. The purpose of the research is (1) to know the teacher preparation in teaching English using ICT, (2) to describe the implementation of ICT for teaching English, and (3) to know how the teacher evaluate students’ progress in English by using ICT. The research conducted at State Senior High School 1 Ngunut in the academic year 2017/2018. The research method used is descriptive design by using qualitative approach. The subject are two teachers who teach in X and XI class and 5 students from X IPS 1 and 5 students from XI MIPA 5. The data in the form of trasncript was gotten from having in-depth interview with both teacher and students. Data collection method is by having in-depth interview and observation. Data analysis based on the theory of Miles and Huberman, which is data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this research based on the research findings and discussion from research problem was, (1) the teacher preparation for teaching English by using ICT has two points, the first is teacher preparing syllabus and lesson plans, because, the teaching and learning process should be based on core competence, the second is preparing ICT devices and materials, the materials prepared before encounter the class, while ICT devices prepared when teacher had already in the class, (2) the implementation of ICT based on each skill were, in listening skill, teacher used laptop, LCD, audio speaker, music video, and flashdisk, while the activity was playing music video (contain song) and singing together, then discuss each part of song; in reading skill, teacher used laptop, LCD, and power point, while the activity was by giving a text and students have to memorize vocab and fulfill the missing word form; in speaking skill, teacher used laptop, LCD, and power point, while the activity is by giving a project to make power point with the theme given and have to present in front of the class with their own group and in the form of power point and the last; in writing skill, teacher used laptop, LCD and power point, while the activity is teacher gives a picture shown on the LCD and students have to compose a text based on the picture given, (3) the evaluation given for students was by giving a direct and indirect test, the direct test is by authentic assessment which asking students to have presentation, and indirect test by giving a multiple choice test. Teaching English by using ICT gives many positive impact for both teacher and students. Either make the students being more enjoy and have much enthusiasm or it can simplify the teacher in delivering materials for students.
