Interest is something that the students must have when learning. Interest is an important factor when someone want to achieve their future career. The higher a personn’s interest in learning, so better the achievement that they get. One of them is interest in learning vocabulary. Vocabulary is one of important aspects that must be mastered in learning a foreign language. by having limited vocabulary knowledge, someone will difficult to mastery of foreign language. thus, in order to facilitate vocabulary mastery, students are expected to have interest in mastering it using the media that they like. On of the media that the students’ interest in learning vocabulary is using twitter. twitter is a media that the students use in dayli life but in fact twitter can be used as a learning media. so with twitter, students can find many knowledge of vocabulary. The formulation of research problem in this study are: (1) What is the students’ interest level in learning vocabulary through twitter? (2) What are the types of students’ interest in learning vocabulary through twitter? (3) What are the factors that affect the students’ interest in learning vocabulary? (4) What type of vocabulary that the students’ interest?. The purpose of this study are to: (1) find out the students’ interest level in learning vocabulary through twitter. (2) find out the types of students’ interest in learning vocabulary through twitter. (3) find out the factors that affect the students’ interest in learning vocabulary. (4) find out the type of vocabulary that the students interest. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. The design used is descriptive. The sample in this study is 110 of students at fourth semester of English Department of IAIN Tulungagung. The instrument that used to collect the data is questionnaires. The researcher collect the data by distributing questionnaires via google form. The result of this study indicate that the students’ interest level in learning vocabulary through twitter is high. Then the researcher found the types of the students’ interest in learning vocabulary through twitter, that are personal interest, situasional interest and psicological interest. The researcher also found the factors that affect the students’ interest in learning vocabulary, that are internal factor and external factor. The last is the researcher found the vocabulary that the students interest is productive vocabulary and receptive vocabulary. The conclussion is the twitter is interesting for students in the learning process. Twitter can be alternative media for learning vocabulary.Its also supported between teacher and students, how the teachers assist students in the learning process and the role of the teachers and the students must be able to use twitter properly and correctly.
