Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training State Islamic Institut (IAIN) of Tulungagung Advisor : Dr. Nurul Chojimah, M. Pd Keywords : the portray of the tutor, learning English English is the most important foreign language learned in Indonesia. In an increasingly advanced era, English is increasingly favored by the community, including students at school. The success of students' language learning is also influenced by teachers, parents, and students themselves. However, there are many reasons that make students unable to master English at school and then choose to study at an English language course institution. In the end, students who do not understand English at all at school will understand better if English material is taught by tutors at the course institution. This is an interesting thing. The research entitled The Portray English Teaching at Fajar English Course Pare Kediri, has a problem formulation on how tutors prepare for teaching, implementing, and evaluating their learning. The purpose of this study was to find out how tutors prepare, implement, and evaluate the learning. This research is included in qualitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The subject used in this research is tutors who teach at Fajar English Course. The data of this study were obtained from the results of interviews conducted by researchers with tutors. The procedures in data analysis are, (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) conclusion drawing. Based on the data analysis process, the researcher found various activities performed by tutors to make students' English learning successful. These portray are preparation for learning which includes preparation for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning. Then the implementation of learning which includes opening activities, main activities, and closing activities. Furthermore, the researcher also found several ways for tutors to evaluate learning in the form of pretest and post-test or asking and answer. After conducting the analysis, the researcher found that the tutor's role in preparing, implementing, and evaluating learning was very important in the success of students' English.
