Keywords: correlation, learning style, visual, learning achievement, descriptive text English is one of the compulsory subjects studied in general for twelve years, starting from Elementary School to High School. One of the final process in learning is learning achievement. Learning achievement in English subjects can be influenced by several factors, one of them is learning style. This research focuses on finding out whether or not there is a correlation between students’ visual learning style and their English achievement in writing descriptive text. The formulation of the problem in this study was “Is there any correlation between visual learning style and English achievement in writing descriptive text of the eight grade students at SMPN 1 Kalidawir Tulungagung in the academic year 2022/2023?”. The purpose of the study was “To find out the correlation between visual learning style and English achievement in writing descriptive text of the eight grade students at SMPN 1 Kalidawir Tulungagung in the academic year 2022/2023”. To prove this, the researcher applies correlational design by using quantitative approach. The population in this study were all eight grade students at SMPN 1 Kalidawir Tulungagung in the academic year 2022/2023. The sampling technique was using Quota sampling. Based on the results of filling out the questionnaire, the samples were 66 students who tended to have a visual learning style. Then, those 66 students who had visual learning style were given test of writing descriptive text. The correlation cofficient was calculated by using Pearson Product Moment in SPSS 24.0 program. In this study, the results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficient value is 0,477. It can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between visual learning style and English achievement in writing descriptive text of the eight grade students at SMPN 1 Kalidawir Tulungagung. Based on the correlation coefficient category, rcount = 0,477 indicates that the correlation between visual learning style (X) and English achievement in writing descriptive text (Y) is categorized as “medium correlated”.
