Abstract
Fadilah, Lutfi. NIM 126203201061. 2024. The Effectivenes ofFlashcard on Student Vocabulary Mastery of The Sevent Grade at MTs Al-Muslihuun Tlogo Kanigoro Blitar. Skripsi. Tadris Bahasa Inggris. Fakultas Tarbiyah dan lmu Keguruan. UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Susanto, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Effectiveness, Flashcard Media, English Vocabulary. Vocabulary is a set of familiar words in one's language. Vocabulary can grow with age, serving as a useful and fundamental tool for communicating and acquiring knowledge. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the main challenges of students who are not confident, lazy in learning a second language. This result is one of the reasons why teachers take action to find solutions to problems that occur in the classroom. In addition, the problem factors in the classroom do not only come from the students but also from the teacher. One of the media to attract students to learn English vocabulary that can be used by teachers is Flashcard media because it is useful and suitable for today's students who do not really like memorizing and are difficult in mastering English vocabulary. The research question in this study is " Is there a significant difference in the mastery of vocabulary given to students using flashcards media and vocabulary given to students not using flashcards media?” Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the significant difference in students' English vocabulary mastery scores in the experimental class and in the control class using flashcard media at MTs Al-Muslihuun Tlogo Kanigoro Blitar. To achieve these objectives, researchers conducted experimental research with a quasi-experimental research design. The population of this study were VII grade students of MTs Al-Muslihuun Tlogo Kanigoro Blitar, and VII-C and VII-D students of MTs Al-Muslihuun Tlogo Kanigoro Blitar as samples totaling 64 students. To collect data, researchers used the post-test only. The data analysis researchers used Independent t-Test test formula because the data in this study were normally distributed. The result data analysis showed there was significant diference score in vocabulary of the control group and experimental group. It could be seen from the average posttest score in the experimental class was 85.81 and the average post-test score in the control class was 73.39. This shows that there are differences in student scores in the experimental class and in the control class using flashcard media. Then the results of the Independent t-Test test showed a significance (sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000. From these results, it is obtained that the significance value (sig. 2-tailed) is smaller than the significance level (p-value) of 0.05. So it can be said that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. This means that flashcard media has an effect on students' vocabulary mastery in this study. As a result, this study is effective on English vocabulary mastery in class VII MTs Al-Muslihuun Tlogo Kanigoro Blitar.
