Abstract

Language is the culture of all the locals that is used as a feature of a region and to show the benefits it has. All local languages are used as cultural indicators, as all intonations and pronunciations have different meanings when spoken. Indonesia has a variety of languages with different intonations and meanings. Language exists in the brains, mouths, ears, hands, and eyes of its users, and success on the international stage leads to language filure. Speaking involves expressing opinions, word and requires adequate grammar and vocabulary. By practicing speaking English, students can better understand and express their thoughts and opinions, making it easier for them to communicate with foreigners and newcomers. By meeting all of these, you can learn different languages from all regions, making it easier to interact and make transactions. With the help of teachers, it provides opportunities for those who want to use English. Similarly, students of SMPN 3 Pare Kediri want to learn about English using several techniques given by teachers. The formulation of the problem in this study is 1. what method are used by teachers when teaching, 2. what media are used and 3. how teachers assess students' abilities after receiving the learning. This study uses a qualitative research design by conducting observation, interviews and documentation as a method of data collection. Qualitative research design provides insights into cultural interactions in educational contexts, focusing on behavioral mindsets, habits and ways of life. What we interviewed were 2 Grade 7 English teachers where each teacher held 5 classes. The findings of this study show that there are several method, media and ways of assessing students' abilities. The methode used are the Audio Lingual Method helps students understand learning materials, improve listening and language skills by focusing on dialogue and prononciation. Discovery Learning encouranges creative thinking in foreign languages, motivating students to think faster and Total Physical Response improves English skills, especially in understanding and applying vocabulary related to physical activity. This movement-based approach reduce students barriers and stress, as it help students learn language through movement and reduces stress during learning. Meanwhile, the media used is in the form of a Textbooks with a QR code in the book. Then in assessing students, teachers will give them the opportunity to sing in English. This research provides implications for teachers and schools to improve adequate facilities and infrastructure so that they will learn more easily and also practice English.
