ABSTRACT Ngaisah, Siti. Students Registered Number. 2813133109.2017. The Practices of Inclusive Instruction: A Case Study of The Eighth Grade English Class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung. Sarjana Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Stated Islamic (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Nany Soengkono M.SS.M.Pd. Keywords: Inclusive instruction: Lesson Plan, Treatment, Assessment Inclusive education is education that gathering the students with special need into one school. The students with special need have opportunity to improve their learning outcomes, including their social skills, academic achievement and personal development, because when they study together with normal students they will have good motivation to be better. The formulation of research problems were: 1) How is the lesson plan of the eighth grade teaching English class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung? 2) Is there any difference in treating between normal students and students with special need done by the teacher of the eighth grade English class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung? 3) How is the assessment of the eighth grade English class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung? The purpose of this study are: 1) To know how the lesson plan on teaching English of the eighth grade at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung 2) To know whether any difference in treating between normal students and students with special need done by the teacher of the eighth grade English class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung 3) To know the assesment of the eighth grade English class at SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung Research Method: 1) The research design in this study was case study with qualitative approach, 2) The data source of this research were headmaster, English teacher who teachs eighth grade, inclusive teacher, and therapist teacher, 3) The technique of data collection of this research were doing observation, conducting interview and documentation. The researcher found that inclusive education held in SMP Islam Al Azhaar Tulungagung are divided into three classes, they are full inclusive class, therapist class, and accompanied class. Not all of inclusive classes have English lesson plan because the ability of students are different, the lesson plan only on the full inclusive class and accompanied class, the differences lesson plan are on the steps of teaching and the material. The treatment were different in each class, it depends on the ability of students, the differences in treating done by teacher between students with special need and the normal students the teacher do not force the students with special need when they cannot. The assessment for two classes used alternative assessment and therapist class used modified assessment.
