Keywords: Effectiveness, song from JOOX Music Application, Vocabulary Mastery. Vocabulary is one of the language element that has important role in increasing four skills in English; they are speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The lowest ability to master vocabulary make difficulties for students’ to communicate their ideas. Practically in speaking for example, by learning sufficient members of vocabulary someone can express his or her ideas. Nowadays, students feel bored with conventional method that used in teaching vocabulary. In this context, the students must memorize words. Because of the importance of vocabulary, it requires a relax and pleasant atmosphere that can support students learning by providing a media song from JOOX Music Application. The study was done to verify whether or not song from JOOX Music Application was effective used in teaching vocabulary. The formulation of the research problem was “Is there any significant difference score in vocabulary of the students taught by using song from JOOX Music Application and those taught by using conventional method”. Research method: 1) the research design of this study was Quasi-experimental with quantitative approach, 2) the population of this study was second grade students of MTs Darul Falah, 3) the samples were VIII A class consisted of 28 students and VIII B class consisted of 29 students, 4) the research instrument was test, 5) the data analysis was using T-test. The finding showed that song from JOOX Music Application was effective used in teaching vocabulary at second grade of MTs Darul Falah. The effectiveness of song from JOOX Music Application can be shown in the following points: 1) the mean score of students on pre-test taught by using song from JOOX Music Application was 63.79, and the mean score of post-test was 78.10. The gain of the mean score was 14.31. 2) the mean score of students on pre-test taught without song from JOOX Music Application was 49.46, and the mean score of post-test was 50.17. The gain of the mean score was 0.71. 3) the result of t-test at significance level of 0.05 showed that the significant values (sig-2 tailed) was 0.00 smaller than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). The result means that there is significant different in vocabulary of the students taught by using song from JOOX Music Application and those taught by using conventional method.
