The Implementation of Scientific Approach in English Instruction Based on the Curriculum 2013 at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kunir Wonodadi Blitar. Sarjana Thesis. Keywords: English Instruction, The Curriculum 2013, Scientific Approach. Curriculum plays an important role in improving education quality since the quality of education could be determined by how well the curriculum is arranged and implemented. The latest curriculum used by education in Indonesia is Curriculum 2013. Some people consider that the Curriculum 2013 is not ready to implement. The Ministry of Education and Culture has declared that all of the schools in Indonesia must implement the Curriculum 2013 in 2020. The new Curriculum emphasizes on Scientific Approach covers five phase; they are Observing, Questioning, Experimenting, Associating, and Communicating. This Approach the teacher was becoming source of information to be facilitator during teaching and learning process. The students should be able to find or construct knowledge by themselves through finding other sources. Because of Scientific Approach is new Approach in Indonesian ETL and it sound familiar to particular subject such as science. Then, this Approach is a new thing for English teacher. Thus, this study aimed to describe the implementation of Scientific Approach in English instruction based on Curriculum 2013. The main research problem of this study was: How is Scientific Approach Implemented in English Instruction at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? This main research question was elaborated into some sub-research question as follows; (1) how is Observing implemented in English Instruction at MTsN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? (2) how is Questioning implemented in English Instruction at MTsN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? (3) how is Experimenting implemented in English Instruction at MTsN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? (4) how is Associating implemented in English Instruction at MTsN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? (5) how is Communicating implemented in English Instruction at MTsN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar? The purpose of the study was: This study aims to describe the implemented Scientific Approac in English Instruction at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kunir Wonodadi Blitar (1) to describe the implementation of Observing (2) to elaborate the implementation of Questioning (3) to investigate the implementation of Experimenting (4) to explain the implementation of Associating (5) to elaborate the implementation of Communicating. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects were an English teacher and the students of VIII grade of Excellent class. In the process of collecting data, three techniques were used; they were observation, interview, and documentation. For enhancing the validity of the data, data methodological and data source triangulation were used. This study reveals that 1) Observing phase the teacher was provide picture and text through seeing, observation, and listening activities. 2) in Questioning phase, the students can not ask a critical question, because of the teacher just giving comprehension check. 3) in Experimenting, the teacher re explained the material and to collect information by doing some exercises in the book. 4) the teaching and learning process in Associating phase the students can analyze and identify the topic. 5) the last activities is making conclusion in the material by creating product like worksheet. The researcher suggested that the teacher must improve and evaluate her knowledge about implementing Curriculum 2013. For future researchers, the researcher suggested that they can use this study as a reference in the next research. For school administrators, the researcher suggested that they can consider the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation English instruction based on the Curriculum 2013 at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kunir Wonodadi Blitar in order to improve Curriculum 2013 development.
